“Bruta” [Rough] is a project of songs based on poems by several authors.
The first album was published on November 2015 by Mia Soave. It focused on poets who went mad or committed suicide. Stela do Patrocínio, Mário de Sá Carneiro, Sylvia Plath, António Gancho and Ângelo de Lima were among them. In 2016/17, the duo comprising Ana Deus (voice) and multi-instrumentalist Nicolas Tricot started adding to their performances songs with poems by authors from the places where they played. Those included Manuel Laranjeira (Espinho), Antero de Quental (Ponta Delgada), Júlio Dinis (Ovar), Augusto Gil (Guarda), Miguel Torga (Vila Real), Luís Miguel Nava (Viseu) Bocage (Setúbal), Camilo Pessanha (Coimbra) and Luís Vaz de Camões (Lisbon).
