Lonely Drifter Karen's second opus, Fall Of Spring, marks a hugely confident step forward, revealing the flourishing fruits of Tanja Frinta, Marc Melia Sobrevias and Giorgio Menossi writing, playing and recording as a trio after the slightly more singer/songwriter feel of their sparkling debut Grass Is Singing, released to wide acclaim in 2008.
Fall Of Spring is a work of beautiful light and shade, of seasonal drifts and colourful contrasts, with the band's already broad musical palette enriched by brass/woodwind arrangements, tremolo-soaked electric guitars, pedal steel, inventive percussive textures and a thrilling new-found taste for rocking out!
Guests on the album include Emily Jane White (who duets on the track Seeds), Dana Janssen from Akron/Family and Carey Lamprecht (violin player for Jolie Holland), Kristof Roseeuw (the bass player with Flat Earth Society), Catherine De Biasio (Mièle). It was recorded in Mallorca, Brussels and various spots around France, and mixed by Christine Verschorren.
